Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 March 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the LINTEL platform and related services operated by LINTEL BUILD LTD (trading as LINTEL), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17061261 (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing or using LINTEL, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Service description
LINTEL is a document-request and intake platform for the construction industry. It enables general contractors (“GCs”) to:
- Create document requests specifying required compliance documents
- Send unique upload links to subcontractor representatives (“recipients”) via email or SMS
- Receive uploaded documents (PDF by default; JPEG when photo uploads are enabled), which are automatically renamed according to the GC’s naming policy and written directly into the GC’s Procore project via the Procore API
Recipients upload documents via a unique link without creating an account or logging in.
2. Eligibility and accounts
LINTEL is a business-to-business service. You must be at least 18 years of age and authorised to act on behalf of your organisation to create an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly at oliver@lintel.build if you become aware of any unauthorised use.
3. GC responsibilities
As a GC using LINTEL, you are responsible for:
- Accuracy of requests: ensuring that document requests contain accurate recipient contact details and appropriate document specifications.
- Lawful basis: ensuring you have a lawful basis under applicable data protection law (including UK GDPR) to provide recipient personal data (email, phone number) to LINTEL for the purpose of delivering upload links and reminders.
- Informing data subjects: informing recipients that their personal data will be processed by LINTEL on your behalf, including by reference to your own privacy notice.
- Procore permissions: maintaining a valid Procore connection with appropriate API permissions for LINTEL to write documents to your Procore projects.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use LINTEL to:
- Upload or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Upload files containing malware, viruses, or other malicious code
- Upload file types other than PDF documents (unless explicitly enabled for your organisation)
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service, other users’ accounts, or connected systems
- Use the service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these terms.
5. Recipient (subcontractor) use
Recipients access LINTEL via unique upload links generated by a GC. Recipients do not create accounts. By using an upload link, the recipient agrees to:
- Upload only the document requested by the GC
- Upload only files of the type requested (PDF or, where enabled, JPEG) that are lawful and non-malicious
- Not share, reuse, or attempt to manipulate upload links
6. Intellectual property
LINTEL platform: all intellectual property rights in the LINTEL platform, including software, design, branding, and documentation, are owned by LINTEL BUILD LTD (trading as LINTEL) or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent.
Your data: you retain all ownership rights in the documents, data, and content you upload to or create through LINTEL. We do not claim any ownership of your data. We use your data solely to provide the service as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
7. Data and privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Where LINTEL processes personal data on behalf of a GC, the terms of our Data Processing Agreement apply.
Uploaded files are written directly to the GC’s Procore project via the Procore API. Files are not stored in LINTEL’s infrastructure beyond the time required to complete the transfer.
8. Pilot programme terms
If you are participating in the LINTEL pilot programme:
- The service is provided free of charge for the duration of the pilot
- The pilot is time-boxed and may be extended or concluded by either party
- We may request permission to use anonymised, aggregated pilot metrics in case studies or marketing materials; this will only occur with your prior written consent
- The pilot does not create any obligation to purchase or continue using the service
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- LINTEL is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected within any particular timeframe.
- We will use reasonable efforts to ensure the reliability of the service and the integrity of data transfers to Procore, but we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from service interruptions, data loss, or failed transfers, except where caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
- Our total aggregate liability under these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to LINTEL in the 12 months preceding the claim (or, during a free pilot, £100).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LINTEL BUILD LTD (trading as LINTEL) from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights, including data protection obligations you owe to data subjects.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate the service agreement by providing 30 days’ written notice to the other party via email.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, and we reasonably determine that the breach is not capable of remedy or has not been remedied within 14 days of notice.
On termination:
- Your access to LINTEL will be deactivated
- We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy retention schedule
- Any outstanding obligations (including confidentiality and limitation of liability) survive termination
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by updating the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the service and terminate your account.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Before initiating any formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation for a period of at least 30 days.
14. US Supplemental Terms
This section applies where you or your recipients are located in the United States.
Service provider relationship (CCPA/CPRA)
Where LINTEL processes personal information on behalf of a GC, LINTEL acts as a service provider under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. We:
- Process personal information only for the specific business purposes set out in these Terms and our Privacy Policy
- Do not sell or share personal information
- Do not retain, use, or disclose personal information outside the direct business relationship with the GC
- Will cooperate with GCs to respond to consumer rights requests
Communications compliance
Email notifications sent via LINTEL are transactional in nature (delivering a requested upload link or reminder). They are not marketing communications.
SMS notifications to US recipients are currently restricted. Where SMS is enabled for US recipients in future, LINTEL will implement appropriate consent capture, disclosure, and opt-out mechanisms in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable FCC regulations.
